ORATORICAL CONTEST
ANNUAL DEBATE FOR PLUNKET MEDAL. l. Victoria College Debating Society ■will hold its annual contest for the Plunket Medal in the Concert Chamber of the J. own Hall to-morrow night. While Governor of New Zealand, the late Lord lluiiket endowed the society with a medal to be awarded annually for a contest in oratory. The rules, which were drawn up by Lord Plunket himself, provide that each competitor shall take as his subject some man or woman of note in history. 10-morrow night’s contest will be the twenty-second held for the medal, and a record number of competitors will face the judges the Hon. J. A. Young (Minister of Health), and Messrs. W A. Armour (Principal of Wellington College), and Mr. H. F. O’Leary. ’
