OUTBREAK OF FIRE
DAMAGE TO WASHHOUSE. Palmerston North, July 14. • About 6 o’clock to-night the Palmerston North fire brigade received a call to 39 Linton Street, where a washhouse had caught alight. Little damage was done, and the outbreak was 'subdued quickly. ’ • - DRAPINGS CATCH FIRE. Masterton, July 14. At about 6.30 p.pi. to-day the Masterton fire brigade received a call Io a boarding house in Queen Street, known as Carlton House, where a lighted candle had ignited some drapings. The outbreak was quickly suppressed, and little damage was ‘done.
