MATCHES

Palmerston North. July 14. Three matches were decided in the ladies’ hockey competitions in 1 almerstou North this afternoon, Bunnytborpe beating Tokomaru by B—o, Orona Downs beating Technical by 2 goals to 1, and W.E.O.G. beat Rongotea by 1 goal to 0. Championship points in the competition, are now as follow; —Bunnythorpe I<> W.E.O.G. 11, Rongotea b, Technical 5, Oroua Downs 5, Tokomaru 0. W.E.O.G. have one match still to play, while Technical, Rongotea, Tokomaru and Oroua Downs have each to play two. Bunnythorpe. the leading team, madeshort work of Tokomaru, their forwards dominating the game throughout. lhe score at half-time was; Bunnythorpe 3, Tokomaru 0, the defence ot the lokomaru team being fairly good, but in the second spell the Bunnythorpe players had by far the greater share of the ball, using it to good advantage. Scorers for the winning team were: Misses Ranson (3), Redsiiaw (2), Duthie, Godfrey, and RdbAii even game was seen between Oroua Downs aqd Technical, both sets of forwards contending right of possession of the ball iu fine style. At th? end of the first spell Technical were in the lead by 1 goal to 0, but in the second half Oroua Downs played with* much more certainty and eventually won out by 2 goals to 1. Misses V. Sexton and L. Jarvis scored for the country team, and for Technical Miss Larsen goaled.

W.E.O.G. had a narrow win over Rongotea, the teams being very evenly matched, and good hockey was seen. It was in the first spell that W.E.O.G. gained their lead, Miss M. Newth scoring, and in the second half neither side could score. FEILDING RESULTS, Feilding, July 14. Following are the results of hockey matches played in Feilding this afternoon.— ' .
