WADESTOWN AFFAIRS
PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION MEETING. The Wadestown Progressive Association met on Tuesday nigljt, Mr. E. Wylie presiding. V The secretary reported that as a result of a deputation to the City Council work on the footpath through Queens Park had been resumed and the council had agreed to construct a footpath between Main Road and Grant Road. This work was now nearing completion. The executive had toured the district and had drawn up the following list of necessary works, which would be placed before the City Council: —Improvement to Mam Road from the tram terminus to Purakau Road; footpath to Main Road; approach to Wadestown at take-off from Grant Road; a swimming pool; access to Ngaio; improvement to Roscoe lerrace; the reconditioning of Upper Weld Street; and attention to Fernhill Terrace. It was stated that a letter to the Postal Department had resulted in new postal arrangements, which were working very satisfactorily. „ A. vote of sympathy with the widow of the late Mr. R. L. Phillip, the treasurer of the society, was carried. The society decided to support the local Plunket Society in auy of its activities.
