Mr. Hamilton Webber, 8.5. C., musical director lor the Fuller management, who came over from Australia to superintend the musical direction of “Archie,” “Sunny,” and “Mercenary Marv,” will return to Sydney to-dav The members of the company farewelled Mr Webber nt His Majesty’s Theatre yesterday and presented him with a handsome timepiece. Mr Webber is returning to take charge .of the musical direction in Australia of “Rio Rita," Sir Benjamin and Mr. John Fuller’s big plav, in which Miss Gladys Moncrief! will take the leading part.

Three aeroplans from the Wigram Aerodrome flew over the Methven Showgrounds the other afternoon, and created a stir among the crowd, as well as among the horses and cattle (says the Ashburton “Guardian”). No doubt many people on the grounds had never before witnessed a 'plane in flight, and the advent of three machines was a red-letter liappening forthexnajority. One ’plane carried out a loop and minor stunts, and flew low above the ring, giving the crowd a thrill. The other ’planes kept nt si considerable height, and after circling round for about live minutes, the three ’planes left in company.
