CONFERENCE ENDS. BY Telegraph - Press association. Christchurch, March 22. At the conference, of master carriers, which, ended to-day, the following officers were elected:—President, Air. E. Smith (Christchurch); vice-presidents, Messrs. U. W. Griffiths (Wellington), Al. Stevenson (Dunedin), G. Wmslone, jun. (Auckland); executive, .Messrs. A. J. Curl is, B. Ginger, J. Alunt, W. D. Irons (Wellington), ,1. Walker (Wairarapa), J. H. Kirkwood (Dunedin), AV. A. Phillips (Auckland), J. Wise (Christchurch); auditor, Mr. W. .1. Blyth (AVellingwn); representatives oil Employers’ Federation Advisory Board, Mg. It. Al. Griffiths. Among the resolutions passed was one expressing inten-c disappointment at the failure of the Government to relievo heavy motor vehicle owners of the present excessive taxation, and urging that steps be taken to enlist sympathy and co-operation io make a united representation to the Government.
