CANOE CAPSIZES
BOY DROWNED. Dominion Special Service. Auckland, February 19. As the result of a canoe capsizing John Chaplin, aged 10, was drowned this afternoon at Stanley Bav. A companion, Douglas Leslie Abraham, was rescued bv some yachtsmen in the vicinitv. ’ The bos s were paddling about'in the canal 300 yards from the shore when the accident happened, and when the yacht which rescued Abraham arrived, Chaplin had disappeared The body has not been recovered.
