TERRACE END WINS AINSLIE SHIELD. Palmerston North, January 11. The Ainslie Shield changed hands this afternoon when two rinks from Terrace End Bowling Club played a challenge match with Northern, winning by 4 points. Results are as follow :— Terrace End—Dixon. -Wallace, Webley, Duticalf (s.), 16; Northern —Bennett, Barker, Palmer, Cunninghaine (s.), 13. Terrace End—Wort, Snell, Nixon, Fraser (s.), 18; Norther.*;—Bryant, Thornley, Stallard, Morsehead («•),. 17 The next challenge for the shield will come from Palmerston Club. TAKARO CUP. Another rink from Northern played Palmerston for the Takaro Cup at the latter’s green and succeeded in winning the trophy bv 34 points to 10 The rinks were as follow; Northern— Lvncli, McHardy, Rumble, Tapp (s.) : Palmerston—Beattie. Giorgi, Matheson, Pickering (s.). The next challenge for the cup comes from Levin.
