Mr. Prideaux, of Hawke’s Bay, is a visitor to Palmerston North. Mr. h. Sharpin, of Wanganui, is visiting Waipukurau. Sir. D. Atnodeo, of Palmerston North, has returned from a holiday in Auckland. Mr. T. H. Kelly, of Naper, left recently on a visit to Auckland. Mr. G. Beckett ,of Wellington, is on a brief holiday visit to New Plymouth. Mr. Rogers, of Invercargill, is a visitor to. Wanganui. Colonel Hulbert, of Wellington, Is a visitor to Palmerston North. Mr. J. A. Flesher, of Christchurch, was a recent visitor to New Plymouth. Mr. G. Syme, jun., has left Hawera for a holiday to the East Coast. Dr. J. L. Reed, superintendent of the Waipukurau Hospital, together with Mrs. and Miss Reed, have left on a month’s motor tour. The death took plaec at Carterton yesterday of Mr. John Monoghan, a well-known settler of the Wairarapa. Deceased, who was in his seventyfourth year, had been in failing health for some weeks. For many years he farmed a propertv on Somerset Road, and a few years ago he retired into private life He was for many years an active member of the Wairarapa A. and P.
