TOWN AND COUNTRY Mr. and Mrs. J. Milner, and family, of Pinnoa, Wairarapa, are on holiday at Lake Ferry. Mrs. and Miss McKenzie, of Woodville, are the guests of Miss Sinclair, of Pinnoa. Mr. and Mrs. Williams, of Wellington, who have been the guests of Miss Hanlon, Wliangimoana, South Wairarapa, have returned home. Mrs. D. Thomson, of Masterton, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Moss, Lyall Bay. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Reynolds have returned to their home tn Masterton fioni a holiday at Seatoun, Wellington x Mrs D. K. White, of Waipawa, will leave early next month on a trip to England. Mrs. John Miller, of Palmerston North, is on a visit to Hawke’s Bay, where she is the guest of Mrs. Ormond. Mrs. J. Pease (England) is the guest of Mrs R. L. Pease, Hawera. 1 Mrs. Russell Gaisford and her son are spending the holidays at Paraparaumu. Miss Butterfield, of Oamaru, is at present on a visit to Waipukurau. The engagement is announced of Mr. E. B. Jardine, of Wairoa, to Miss Nancy Stock, of Gisborne. Mr. and Mrs Whitcombe, of Christchurch, are at present visiting Wanganui. Miss* Doris Haggitt, of Hastings, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Haggitt, Palmerston North. Miss Woodward, of Hawke’s Bay, is visiting in Palmerston North. MADAME MENERE’S HINTS ON FURS. Sprinkling furs with pepper and then wrapping them up in paper will not keep the moth away, declares Madame Menere. The only way to keep the moth out is to every few davs give the furs a good shaking and beating with a cane. No moth constantly disturbed in a fur is going to lay eggs there. —Advt.
