JUST IN TIME
RAIN IN WAIRARAPA. Masterton, October 12. The fall of rain in the Wairarapa during the night, while slight, was extremely beneficial, remarked a prominent Masterton farmer to-day, and arrived at a time to save the position for the farmers so far as pastures were concerned. The position had reached a point where it was becoming serious, as continued dry weather would have brought cn seed prematurely and spoiled the fodder for the next season. The countv roads have been suffering through the 'long dry spell, and through losing their binding have become very loose with metal.
