POWER CUT OFF

STONE-THROWING THE CAUSE

Feilding, October 12. A lengthy interruption in the electric power supply in Feilding took place this morning, lasting from 7.55 a.in. until 9.32 a.m. The interruption was traced to broken and damaged bushings in a transformer, which had been broken by stones thrown at them. Only a few days ago, he said, someone threw a length of wire across a high tension circuit at Awahuri with the result that no fewer than 60 milking machines were put out of action during the busiest period of tho day. Extreme danger attended stone throwing, continued Mr. Waters, and if the people responsible would only realise what their actions would lead to, consumers would be assured of constant and uninterrupted service. »
