LAWN TENNIS
NEW COURTS OPENED. Two tennis courts at the new Technical College were opened on Saturday by the director of the college (Mr. J. H. Howell), and it-is expected that two more will Ire available next Saturday. When the formation of the grounds had progressed further, said Mr. Howell, it would be possible to lay down nine courts, two of which would be at the back of the college nnd the remainder in the hollow, which was now partly filled in.
Fifty people were present, and Mr. Howell wished players, old students and friends, a pleasant afternoon and a. successful season. I.adies of the club provided afternoon tea.
The secretary of the club is Mr. F. K. Clayton, and the committee Misses Campbell. Laycock, and Hyde, Messrs. O’Connell, Varcoe and Johnstone.
