WIRELESS SERVICES IN AUSTRALIA
REPORT OF ROYAL COM- . MISSION (Rec. September 13, 10.30 p.m.) Melbourne, September 13. The report of the Royal Commission on wireless, which will be published next week, states, inter alia, that the existing system is suitable for development and the utilisation of wireless services in the Commonwealth. At present the broadcasting by private enterprise is considered satisfactory, and the commission does not recommend Government ownership or management of broadcasting, or the purchase of shares now held by private people in Amalgamated Wireless Limited.
