FALSE FIRE ALARM
AT THE GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS Considerable excitement was caused on Friday afternoon when the fire alarms commenced to ring in the Government Buildings. Fire engines quickly ranged up in front of the fine wooden block, but their services were not required since a false alarm had been given. It appears that the “warning” was a caprice of the bells, and not the result of mischief.
