CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY H. BEST. Bt Ttlegkaph.—Press Association. z Marton, July 8. The North Island sparrow and livopigeon championships were fired hero to-day. in fine weather. The visibility was good, and thero was no wind. The championship was won by H. Best (Palmerston North), 20, who takes the gold medal and £2l 2n. 6d. H. Netz (Masterton), V. Smith (Auckland), each 79, take £7 os. 9d. Other scores wore:— D. McLaughlin (Masterton), 15; H. Clinch (Waihi), 15; D. Symonds (Whakatane), 14; and A. Dobson (Auckland), 12. Fourteen others were below 12. .Following tho sparrow shooting championship, a £3O handicap shoot was held. Results: A Dobson (Auckland), 10, takes £2O; H. Clinch (Waihi), C. Brown (Palmerston North), H. Nitz (Masterten), E. King (Waihi), 9, take £2 10s. each. The sweepstake was won by 11. Nuttall (Marton), after u shoot-off with Dobson, Clinch, and King.
