LIGHTS FOR DAY’S BAY ROAD
DISSATISFACTION OF RESIDENTS
Although the electric wires conveying power to Day’s Hay and Eastbourne have been strung along the whole length of the main road from the Hutt to Eastbourne, there has been no provision made to light t/he road, except in the more closely settled bays. As there is more or less settlement all along this road, and now that a permanent surface has been applied to the road, and the traffic' by car and per foot is growing every month, those interested are concerning themselves about having the whole of the road lighted, even if it is onlv a lamp every 200 yards or so. There are occasions when people have to use this road after dark to reach ''their homes, and are naturally timid at facing a road that is totally unlighted for long stretches. Probably, the Hutt Conntv Council, to whom all rates in this district are paid, will be requested to come to some arrangement with ' the Hute Valle;' Pow..: Aonrd jo 4Wi:edy th?.
