It is reported by Mr. J. Reynolds that while cruising in the vicinity of the Chickens Islands on Easter Monday he saw a large turtle disporting itself in the water (states the “New Zealand Herald”), and it remained on the surface for some time. '1 he only previous occasion upon which the sighting of a turtle so far south has been reported was on January 29.
