HUTT TOWN-PLANNING SCHEME
Accompanied by tbe Mayor, Councillor Hunt and Mr. D. A. Ewen, the Hon. Mr. J. A. Younff, Minister of Health, on Saturday paid a visit to the scene of the town-planning and building operations at Lower Hutt on the land adjoining the new railway line now in course of construction through the valley. The land inspected was the Maude* Estate, where a start is being made with the erection of 50 houses. The foundations of several have already been laid, and the framework in one or two cases is well started. Mr. Young spent some time on the site, and expressed his approval at the evident signs of progress, at tbe splendid organisation being shown by the State Departments, local authorities and citizens' committee, combined, and at the fine enthusiasm being displayed by all in connection with what was no doubt a most up-to-date townplanning scheme.
