In the House of Representatives, during the debate on the second reading of the Crimes Bill, which deals with the deportation issue, Mr, M. Charlton, Leader of the Labour Opposition, after setting forth the’ views of the- Labour Party, moved as an amendment that the Bill be withdrawn and redrafted, so as to eliminate the obnoxious clauses referring to industrial disputes. He considered that such clauses were an unwarrantable affront ‘to the great bodies of organised labour. The debate was adjourned.—Press. Assn.
