In view of the decision of the Magistrate in the 44-hour week and Federal award case, the Employers’ Federation has decided to take steps to have the matter brought before the High Court witli a view to obtaining a decision as to its correctness. —Press Assn. [A Sydney Magistrate ruled that the New South Wales 44-hour Week Act may be applied to employees working under a Federal award. The • ruling arose out of an action bv a member of the Engineers' Union,, tn which he claimed a certain amount of overtime from the Clyde Engineering Company, which was deducted, as under the State award he worked' only 41 hours instead of 48, as provided by the Federal award.]
