Mr. R. F. R. Beetham, of Masterton, returned from a visit to England by the s.s. Ruapehu yesterday. He was accompanied bv Mrs. Beetham and Master R. 11. Beetham.

Mr. T. W. Attwood, of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation, who has been in England for some months past, attending to matters of marketing, returned by the s.s. Ruapehu yesterday. He disposed of a large quantity of New Zealand fruit at the Wembley Exhibition. Air. Attwood was accompanied bv Mrs. Attwood.

Three officers of the Royal Navy—paymaster Lieut.-Commander C. A. Bowen, Lieut.-Paymaster R. F. Pink, and Lieut.-Commander R. P. Selbyarrived bv the Ruapehu yesterday to join H.M.S. Dunedin and H.M.S. Philomel.

Mr. T. W. C. Wilberfoss, who, with Mrs. Wiiberfoss and Miss E. J. Wilberfoss, have been visiting Mrs. Wilberfoss’s relations in England, returned bv the Ruapehu yesterday. Mr. Wilberfoss informed a Dominion repoi*er that thev had spent about eight and a half months in England, and had enjoyed a delightful summer, during which they motored some 12,000 miles about England. The voyage out had been a most pleasant one, beautiful weather being experienced, which had enabled the old ship to make a record trip.

Lieut.-Colonel S. E. Thomas, an exImperial Army officer, who intends settling permanently in the Dominion, arrived from England by the s.s. Ruapehu vesterdav. He was .accompanied bv Airs. Thomas, Miss E. A. Thomas, Aiiss E. H. G. Thomas, and Mr. E. G. B. Thomx.
