LYTTELTON ELECTION
another petition LODGED Telegraph. —-Press Association. Christchurch, December 24. Air. J. AlcCoinbs lodged an election petition in connection with the Lyttelton seat this morning. It asks that the ballot papers shall be subjected to a further recount and that the petitioner shall be declared duly elected, inasmuch as the majority of the valid votes were cast in Ins lav°UTbe petition alleges that certain persons were enrolled as electors and voted who did not reside in the district- that a number of the persons enrolled had not resided one year in New Zealand; and that a number of the valid votes recorded for the petitioner were wrongly counted as informal. .
