SINGAPORE BASE
TOTAL EXPENDITURE (Rec. November 19, 7.20 p.m.) London, November 18. The First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. Bridgeman, said the total expenditure, on the Singapore base s.p far had been £117,000. No definite sum of money had been offered by other parts of the Empire, except a quarter of a million from Hong-Kong, which was being dtawn upon as required. The Straits Settlements had bought the land for £l46,ooo.—Reuter.
