EXTRAORDINARY ACT
TWO MILES OF FENCING DESTROYED By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, November 18. The Wairoa correspondent of the “Hawke’s Bay Herald” states that a few days ago two miles of new fencing near Tuai, Lake Waikaremoana, erected partly as a boundary fence between the power house site and the properties of Capper Brothers and R. E. Neale, valued at £4OO, were destroyed in a most complete manner. The whole seven wires were cut at every post In the line, and in some places between the battens also. The destroyer of the fence also cut the wires holding the anchors at angles on level ground. The work of destruction was not only systematic and complete, but must have taken considerable time to carry out, as there were over two thousand cuts made, and even with a powerful cutter the work must have taken hours. The matter is now in the hands of the police, but so far there arc no clues as to who committed the extraordinary act.
