DUNEDIN EXHIBITION
BROADCASTING TESTS. The new broadcast station erected at the Difnedin Exhibition was heard loudly in Wellington last evening, testing preparatory to commencing operations when the exhibition opens. It is proposed by, the exhibition executive to broadcast regularly the high-class musical programmes, including those by the Sutherland and Argyll regimental band. Last evening the tests were conducted with gramophone records, and the reading of extracts from a hook. The transmission was powerful, but the tone was somewhat harsh. There was also audible the hum from the motor generator. The exports, however, have time yet to remedy these defects,, and the transmission last evening was purely in tie nature of a test. The announcer stated that the station would commence broadcasting for the exhibition at 2.30 p.m. to-mor-row.
