BRITISH WOOL TEXTILE INDUSTRY
CONTINUANCE OF EXISTING WAGES RECOMMENDED. (Rec. November 15, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 14. The Wool 'Textile Court of Inquiry has issued its award, declaring that there is insufficient evidence to justify a reduction in wages, while the case for a general increase has not been established It recommends the continuance of the existing rates till January 1, 1927. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. fin a dispute in the woollen textile industry an agreement was reached last August, providing for the resumption of work at the old rate of wages, pending an agreement based on the findings of a court of investigation. The court of investigation, under an. official chairman, consisted of two representatives of the employers’ organisations and two of the workers’ organisations. Both sides agreed to accept the recommendations of the court.]
