ROWING
McLEAN BETHUNE FOURS. On Saturday afternoon the first two heats of the McLean Bethune Fours were rowed by the Star Boating _ Club over a mile course front the Oriental Bay Kiosk io the Taranaki Street Wharf. The races resulted as follow:— First heat: Cook (str.), Herd, Dumbleton and Fitzgerald beat Newton (str), McLean, Anyon, and Ha l "?'’, V? ? length. Second heat: Wakelin (str.). Hinge (3), McKinley (2), Spry (bow) beat Dobson (str.), Hereford (3), Hislop (-), and Johns (bow) by five lengths. The final between Cook s crew anti Wakelin’s crew will be rowed to-day. A heat each of the Handicap Sculls and the Junior Sculls will also bo held today. .
