HUTT VALLEY SCHOOLS

ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION.

The annual meeting of the Hutt Valley Schools Committees’ Association was J|eld at Lower Hutt on Thursday evening, the president (Air. J. Stonehouse) occupying the chair. The report on the year’s work showed that good progress had been made, and the association had proved of great assistance to all committees of the district. Tho urgency of the erection of the proposed -new Valley High School had been stressed during the year, and a deputation had waited upon the Ministers of Finance and Education. Every householders’ meeting in the district at the election of committees had carried a resolution in favour of a high school being erected, as early as possible. The following officers were elected for (lie ensuing year:—President, Air. P. Robertson; vice-presidents. Messrs. R. House, AV. H. Shardfow, and J. Stonehouse; secretary pro tern, Air. P. J. S. Huthnauce.

It was decided that the rule fealing with representations be amended so that each committee may have one extra representative on the association.
