SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

Mrs. J. W. Carr was hostess at.thc concert to seafarers at the Sailors’ Friend Society on Tuesday, when an evening of rare enjoyment was given to a full house. The performers were Mesdames J. AV Carr and S. Tingey, Misses Ida Wade.’ Masie Oakes, Russell, M. Cooley, and Messrs. Peterson, S. Tingey, Stark,, Allan Carr, Pukey, McCready, McGavan. The Misses Oakes, Finch, and Russell and Mr. Carr were at the piano. Hospitality was dispensed during an interval. "Four Mistakes” was the title of the missioner’s chat on temperance, and. as usual, men signed the pledge. Rare fun came from the competitions. The hostess presented the prizes, which were won by the Port Caroline. Arawa, and Port Wellington.
