London, April 25. The United Kingdom Alliance reports that the people of Britain spent £307,500,000 on intoxicants in 1923, compared with £330,000,000 in 1922. The consumption of beer increased by 3 per cent., and wine by 71- per cent. The consumption of spirits decreased by 61 per cent.
