Mrs J D. Gray voiced tho feelings of the Victoria League in ‘ peaking of the loss the council had sustained in the death of Dr. Newman who had always given his synipatlietic and invaluable help so freely. The league deplored the loss of a man v-ho was not only such a splendid ritizen in private life but who in his public life devoted himself to the highest welfare of his citv, his country and the Umpire. A vote of condolence with Dr. Newman’s son was passed.
