TO INVESTIGATE ACCOUNTS
HOSPITAL BOARD APPOINTS COMMTJTEE. Mr. W. Appleton moved, at yesterday’s meeting of the Hospital Board, “That a special committee, comprising Messrs. Castle, McCurdy. Chapman and the mover, be appointed to investigate the whole system of the board’s accounts, and the organisation of the nd ministry live staff, and to report to tho board.” Mr. Appieton said that there was much to admire in the way the hospital accounts were kept, but there were two or three cases of overlapping in one department, and that might be the case in others. In any case, it would do no harm to overhaul tho system of accounts. After the names or Messrs. C. Al. Luke and G. Pethcrick (chairman of committees') had been added to the committee, tho motion was unanimotualy adopted.
