DISPOSAL OF POPPY DAY FUNDS
CHRISTCHURCH SUPPORT FOR HEADQUARTERS. By Telegbaph—Press Association. Christchurch, March 19. At a meeting of the executive of tho Christchurch Returned Soldiers Association a discussion took place concerning the dispute which has arisen between tho Auckland association and headquarters regarding the allocation of Poppy Day funds. It was pointed out that if unemployment is acute amongst returned soldiers during tho winter 80 per cent, of the proceeds of the Poppv Day sales could be devoted to relief of unemployment amongst the returned men. , , Tho following resolution was carried unanimously: “That the Christchurch executive of the Returned Soldiers’ Association warmly approves of the disposal of the Poppv Day funds as decided by the Dominion executive of the New’ Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association.”
