ASSISTANT TEACHERS’ SALARIES
At a meeting of blie Wellingto. branch of the N.Z7E.I. held on Thursday evening tho following resolution was unanimously carried after consideration of the proposed salary scheme for assistant teachers: —“That this meeting of the AVellington branch of t.he N.Z.E.I. is of opinion that the Alinister of Education in asking _ the teachers of the Dominion to consider at short notice it new salary scheme before giving any or adequate reasons for the rejection. of the Kane-Hilton scheme, which was carefully by the last annual meeting of the N.Z.E.1., has taken a step calculated to destroy the confidence of the teachers in his administration.”
