YOUNG BURGLARS
BUSINESS PREMISES ENTERED By telegraph.—Press AssociationChristchurch, April 10. A series of burglaries was committed some time during the week-end in a business block which is surrounded by Victoria, Durham, Salisbury, and Peterborough Streets. The work appears 'to be that of a gang of youths, for entrances were effected in a rather rough-and-ready manner, and the spirit of mischief seems to have seized the intruders once they had effected an entrance. At some of the premises visited they made dtermined attempts to open safes, but in this they were unsuccessful. In all the premises thev evidently proceeded to make as much mischief as possible, scattering books and papers in all directions.
