MERCANTILE LEAGUE CRICKET
FINAL KNOCK-OUT COMPETITION.
The final of Mercantile Cricket League’s' knock-out competition was completed on Saturday at the Basin Reserve, when Gollin and Co- defeated Macky, Logan’s by 103 runs. Macky., Logan’s, batting first, compiled 77, of which Young, 25, Butler, 14, and Connor, 19, were the principal contributors. Bowling for Gollin and Co., Walker, seven wickets for 7 runs, and Everton, three for 23, were the most successful trundlers. Gollin and Co. replied to Macky, Logan’s 77 runs with a quickly compiled 180. Baker, 72, Johnston, 25, Barnes, 18, White, 23, and Charles, 12, were the principal scorers. Bowling for Macky, Logan’s, Young secured five wickets for 74, Tilyard three for 75, and Johnston one for 22. Gollin and Co., therefore, win the Myers Cup for 1922-23.
