CAPITAL PUNISHMENT OPPOSED
DEATH SENTENCES TO BE COMMUTED. (Rec. April 8, 11.5 p.m.) New York, April 7. Governor Walton, of Oklahoma, declaring himself absolutely opposed to capital punishment, has announced that he will commute the sentences on six men awaiting execution for murder to life imprisonment.—Aus.-N.Z.
