The weather has been wet and the going will be heavy for to-day’s meeting at Ecilding. Tho fields will b«l on tho small side in most of tho events. Siberian, who is to be ; idden by A. Reed, may be favourite in the Maiden Race, and Rose of Athens should also shape well on tho soft track. Tigerland is an unlikely Garter in the Hunt Cup, and in his absence favouritism may be divided between tho consistent Onipoto and Papatere.' If the going gets very bad, Tigntiya may not show up in the Hack Hurdles, as when racing on the flat she was rarely seen to advantage in bad' ground. The Baronet likes the sting out, and he may be the hardest to dispose of.. Tho consistent Te Mairo has a big pull over Sunray in the weights for the Bracelet. Tho form of Verbosity and Printemps will divide the public choice in the big handicap. Verbosity at Marten was most attractive, and ho can net in soft going. Printemps, too, can handle himself "on a soft track. He is very well now, and at Trentham on Thursday ran five furlongs in Imin. 2sec.
