“JUDAS MACCABAEUS"
SUNDAY PERFORMANCE FOR PLUNKET HOME. An event of some musical importance is announced by Mr. W. E. Caldow (secretary of the Wellington Choral Union). Quite recently the question was submitted to members of tho union as to whether they would agree to participate in a special performance on a Sunday afternoon of "Judas Maccabaeus,” in aid of the funds of the proposed Plunkct Home for Wellington. There was practically a unanimous vote in the affirmative. The offer was made, an<l has Ixien gratefully accepted by tho Citizens' Committee. Tho performance will take place at the Town Hall on Sunday afternoon, October 16. The cast has not yet been arranged, but it is practically certain that the tenor and soprano will not be the same as those who sang in the recent performance given by the union.
