AN ADDRESS TN DUNEDIN.

By T®le£rß n h. -Press Association. Dunedin, September 16. Mr C. E. Statham, M.P.. leader of the receiitlv-formed National Progressive and Moderate Labour Party, delivered an address here to-night. The Mayor. (Mr. Douglas) presided over a large attendance. Mr. Statham dealt with the -aims, objects, and aspirations of the new party whose motto was, "The common good, of all.” He considered that the I pper House, consisting of about forty mem--I>ers at .41300 per year, was a wanton ex- : travagance. The Upper House should be turned into a revising chamber, consistin" of fifteen men. who should be nominated by the Government and approved by Parliament.
