THOSE GATE RECEIPTS
Sir,—After the foitball match Springboks versus Wellington, on July 23, many people endeavoured to reconcile the gate receipts with the attendance, but with little success. The Rugby Union promised, ner medium of a letter to the papers,'to explain matters at a later date but so far nothing further has been heard. However, there are some people who would still like enlightenment on the subject, so perhaps this letter will serve to draw forth the longdelayed explanation.—l
