FODDER CONSERVATION
NEW S'OUTB WALES SCHEME. Sydney, June 24. After a conference, lasting for several weeks between Government ropreserd afives and the pastoralists and other interested industries, a comprehensive scheme for fodder conservation as drought insurance has been prepared for submission to Cabinet. The scheme proposes the establishment of a board with legislative authority, representing the pastoral and financial interests, with a Government, nominee. Thu Stale will be divided into districts under local cxmimittecs, which will attend to the establishment of central depots wherever required for the storage of fodder, which the farmers will be encouraged to grow nt guaranteed prices. Rural inteneets and the Government will jointly fin aura (he scheme, which is estimated to require £5.000.000 to carry on for five vears, when it will become self-support-ing. The. scheme has been well received amongst rural interests. —Press Assn
