It is also stated that boats from Wellington will, make Sydney their terminal port, and not proceed to Hobart, in consequence of the new Navigation Act, which will operate on all boats running in the intor-State trade.—Press Assn.
Melbourne, Juno 24. Referring to the proposed reductions in the shipping services, Mr. Appleton, of the Inter-Srate Shipowners’ Federation, stated that the increased expenditure involved in conforming with the Navigation Act made it impossible for shipowners to maintain some of the services at their present strength.
