ARRANGEMENTS TOR PAYMENT.

A distriot ordeii states arrangements have been completed with the Imperial Government for the pecuniary grants payable under Royal pay warrants to holders of the Victoria Cross, Military Cross, or Distinguished Conduct Medal to bo paid to those members of tho New Zealand Expeditionary Force who receivo thoso decorations. Recovery will bemado from tho Imperial' Government through the Treasury. To thoso soldiers who havo received the Victoria Cross, a special pension of -CM per annum is payablo from the date ot tho act of bravery for which the decoration was gained. Ah additional pension of X 5 is granted for each bar added in consetinenco of further acts of 'bravery, and in tho event of an annuitant boni« unable to earn a livelihood, as tlin result of old asa or infirmity, occasioned "by causes beyond his control, the annuity may bo increased at the discretion of the Army Council. A. soldier awarded the Distinguished Conduct Jiconl or tlio Military Cross receives a gratuity ot .C2O on promotion to n commission or on discharge without person. If discharged with a pension, he is eligible for an addi™pplicat'ions for gratuities will be made to the Quartermaster-General, and applications for Hie additional pension to tlie Paymaster-General.
