FREIGHT RATES
NATIONAL INSURANCE SUGGESTED. The following resolution. was passed by the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce recently, and yesterday the Wellington Chamber of Commerce decided to support it:—"The combined Importers and Exportors Committees of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce emphatically protost against the excessive imposition of 25 per cent, additional freight rates recently advised, and urge the Government to endeavour to arrange with tho British Government for the national war insurance of' vessels trading to and from New Zealand, and thus avoiding any justification for increase of froights on the produce of tho colony ' and imports. from Great Britain."
