ASSOCIATION.
FAREWELL TO MR. H. N. HOLMES. A farewell was tendered to Mr, H. N. Holmes, chairman of tho Wellington Football Association, by players and supportersat The Tiffin Rooms last evening, when occasion was also taken to present the various clubs with the trophies won this season. Mr. F. J. Courtenay presided over an attendance of about 120. Tho following toasts were honoured:— "The Wellington Football Association," proposed by Mr. H. L. Godber, and responded to by Messrs. A. Williams and H. M'Keowen; "Our Guest," proposed by the chairman; and replied to by Mr. 11. N. Holmes; "The Referees' Association," proposed by Mr. M*. Duncan, and responded to by Mr. C. E. Fordhani; "The New Zealand Football Association," proposed by Mr. R. Pyc-Smith, and responded to by Mr. W. E. Wells; "Boys' Football in Schools." proposed by Mr.' W. E. Wells, and responded to by Mr. R. Darroch, president of tho Wellington Public Schools' Rugby Union. A lengthy programme of musical items was gone through, and, during the evening, Mr. Holmes presented the trophios, Mr. Holmes was made tho recipient of a travelling-bag and rug, the presentation I being made by Mr. Courtenay; on behalf of players and supporters of the game in Wellington. 'SATURDAY'S GAMES. . The following aro tho grounds and referees for Saturday's Association games-.— Semi-Final Charity Cup. Owing to Y.M.C.A. and Rovers playing a drawn game last Saturday, .tho match will be re-played at Miramar No. 6 ott Saturday afternoon. Mr. A. F. Newbold has been appointed referee. Scouts' Competition. Johnsonvillo v. Island Bay, at No. 6 Miramar, at 2 p.m.; Mr. J. Howitt. Petone v. Roseneath, at Pctone; Mr. T. C. Mitchell. Swifts seniors journey to Johnsonvillo on Saturday to play a friendly game with the Johnsouville Club.
