ANGORAS AND MOHAIR.
The import duty on mohair (the product of the Angora goat) into ; America is now 6d. per pound, as against s|d. on unwashed wool, lid. on' washed wool, and lfiid. on scoured wool. But efforts are being made to have the duty increased. Tho propect of a successful mohair industry for New Zealand is at present problematical, but this scarcely matters, for the demand for the Angora for weed-killing will . probably absorb all tho animals available in New Zealand for some years to come.
