Lieutenant Shackloton has written to tho Harbour Board, declining tho invitation to attend a banquet, owing to pressure of work and tho scattering of tho members of tho expedition.. Ho acknowledges tho compliment, however, and thanks tho board for many kindnossos shown to himself and tho other members of tho expedition, and tho placing of tho harbour resources at his disposal. Duncdln, April 2. Lieutenant Shackleton has accepted tho invitation of the Otago Institute to deliver a lecture in Duncdin. Tho lecturo will bo given in tho Garrison Hall next Thursday and tho proceeds will be devoted to charity!
