Dr. William Bruce, of tho Scottish Oceanographical Laboratory, and a noted Antarctic explorer, is planning a threo years' Antarctic expedition in 1911, at a cost of £50,000. [Lieut. Shackleton seems to favour the Falkland Islands or Scuth America as tin best quarter from which to attack the South Pole; and it is noteworthy that Dr. Bruce's previous Antarctic work has been done from the Soutli Atlantic. He is the discoverer of Coats's Land, which some of the Shackleton party have mentioned as a favourable point for another Farthest South effort. Dr. Bruce has also done ranch* Arctic exploration.]
